There are several ways to get involved with the Law Commission of Ontario (LCO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LCO Student Scholar Fellows<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The LCO hires summer students from five law schools across Ontario, including Bora Laskin Law School, Osgoode Hall Law School, University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, Queen’s University Faculty of Law, and University of Windsor Faculty of Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students working with the LCO contribute to LCO projects, undertake legal and policy research, and participate in LCO consultations and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osgoode Public Interest Requirement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Osgoode Hall Law School students can fulfill their (OPIR) placement at the LCO. You can find out more and register here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When Does the LCO Accept Project Proposals?<\/summary>\n

The LCO accepts proposals for new projects at any time. If a proposal is received when there is no active call for proposals, the proposal will be saved and included as a submission in our next open call. At that time, the Project Committee of the Board of Governors will review the project proposals and recommend projects to the Board for its approval.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Who can submit a proposal?<\/summary>\n

Any person or organization residing in Ontario can submit a proposal. This includes legal professionals, legal organizations, NGOs, governments, academics and members of the public.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

What kinds of projects will the LCO consider?<\/summary>\n

The LCO will consider any project or idea that fits within our mandate. In general, the criteria are intended to ensure LCO projects focus on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
